My car was doing weird things so I took it in to get checked out. After 5 hours at the car shop, they told me I had a coil that needed to be replaced. We had previously replaced 2 out of 4 coils and this was a new one that was broken. It was going to cost about $200 to fix which was crappy but whatever, not too bad right? Wrong. Turns out we also had another piece (can't remember which one) that had to be replaced at the same time. It would cost $350 to fix... more crappy but still not too bad. A few minutes after that, and they're telling me I need to replace the cover that goes over the coils, and again, it has to be replaced at the same time. The total is now up to $500. Now it's really crappy but at least the car is fixed and were done with this!
Wrong again. I drove the car home and everything seemed all fine and dandy until Jared calls me the next day after he's left for work. Turns out the car is still doing the same thing! At this point I'm pretty annoyed and not feeling well because I woke up with a sore throat but I take the car back in and tell them it's still having problems. After 2 hours at the car shop they come back and say the last of the 4 coils is also bad and it will be $200 to fix. We have to replace it right away or else it will ruin our catalytic converter. So that brings the total up to $700.
Take it home and everything seems fine... wake up the next day and of course, the car is still having problems. Now I'm feeling really sick and need to go to the doctor to find out what's wrong, but Jared had taken the car to work that day. Luckily my neighbor Susan was home so I was able to get a ride with her to Jared's work to get the car. Now THAT was an adventure in itself! Long story short, to get from our house to Jared's work you have to cross the train tracks no matter which route you take. Well all the crossing bars in our neighborhood were broken so it took us like 20 minutes to get there (it's a 5 minute drive) and then I got lost on my way to the doctor's office and was 20 minutes late to the appointment. Stupid but at least I wasn't sick with anything serious! Anyway back to the car story. Our car guy came this morning to pick up the car so he could keep it for the day and possibly overnight to find out what's wrong. Still no idea what's causing it and I'm still sick and really tired of replacing parts because he "thinks" they're broken. Uggghh I hate cars! So now I'm $700 poorer with a broken car, no voice, and I still haven't met my new niece... but I did have enough down time to do 2 new crafts! The first one is actually a gift for my sister-in-law that I haven't been able to give her, so surprise Crystal! Here's your gift:)
It's a changing mat that folds up into a cute little clutch! I got the tutorial from my neighbor Susan's blog, Chevron and Lace.
I loved the fabric for that project so much that I went back and got some more to make myself this super cute laptop sleeve! I didn't have a tutorial for this one, I just kind of figured it out as I went, but I love how it turned out!
Hope everyone had a better week than I did!
Mariasha
Those are both really cute! Great job!
