Reviews for Matched and The Forever Trilogy!

It's been a few days since my last post but I just haven't had anything to write about or the time! Unfortunately that might be the case a lot more now because I got a job babysitting for my sister in law a few days a week while she's at work. Although I'm not gonna lie... I would rather be holding my adorable baby niece Ari than writing blog posts! She's so stinking cute! Anyway, onto the reason for this post! I've been spending a lot of time reading lately so I have a few books to review! So let's get started!

Matched by Ally Condie

I LOVED this book! And I honestly can't wait to go back to the library to get the sequels. I finished this book in about a day because I just couldn't put it down! This book actually reminded me a little of Delirium in the beginning, but once I got further I realized this book was completely different! And the best part of this book?! Completely clean. I can't remember a single swear word and there is no violence or sexual content! And yet it's still romance! Like Delirium, this book is also about a futuristic dystopian society where the government controls everything from who you marry to what job you have. It follows Cassia, a 17 year old girl as she finds out who she will be matched with, what she will be doing, and is forced to make some difficult decision as she seeks the truth and lies in what she thought was a safe world. You can find the full description here.
I would definitely recommend this book for everyone and it is appropriate for any age! So go read it!

The Forever Trilogy by B. Alston and Q. Ramey

I really enjoyed reading this trilogy! I was surprised by how good this book was and by how much I enjoyed the story line. It did have some typos but that's to be expected with books by new authors. I'd say the thing that really interested me about this book was that it's about witches, warlocks, and vampires, but ties in different parts of the story of Anastasia! I loved comparing what was in the book with what was historically accurate and I thought it added a nice twist to the story. This book is the story of 15 year old Anastasia Adams who after being attacked by a vampire, discovers that not only is she a witch, but that she is royalty in the haven where her grandmother resides. And of course no story would be complete without a love triangle right?!  But I'll just let you read about that on your own here. Although I was disappointed with how short the second books was, it was a fun quick read and I really enjoyed it. I'm having a hard time remembering but I think it had a few mild swear words and mild violence. As far as sexual content goes, no sex scenes but there is a small amount of sex talk throughout the book and its mentioned that one of the main characters in the second and third books was kept as a sex slave by the main evil vampire. All in all not terribly inappropriate but I would suggest it for only older teens. It's only 3.99 for the whole series on Amazon kindle right now so go check it out!
