SURPRISE!

I wasn't planning on doing another post until the end of the week, however, I had my very first doctors appointment yesterday and have some news to share! 

Yes, I know you're all probably wondering why in the world I waited so long to go into the doctor. It's honestly because I felt that if I waited until the end of my first trimester, I knew I could find out if I'd had a miscarriage or not by then and just move on either way and never worry about it again because the risk of miscarriage drops so drastically at that point. Maybe that's crazy, but with what I went through with my miscarriage last year, and having to go in several times because the heartbeat was slow, I just couldn't do it again. 

Anyway, moving on! Since I didn't go in for an 8 week appointment and get the ultrasound then, they did an ultrasound at my appointment yesterday. As I was sitting there watching the ultrasound, the doctor said that it looked like I was further along than we thought! I am 13.5 weeks instead of 12, so my due date got moved up! Yay for sort of less time being pregnant! 

Then the doctor practically gave me a heart attack when she asked if I wanted to know the gender! I'm sure I probably looked like an idiot sitting there gaping at her and then saying, "Wait, what?". I had never even heard of people finding out the gender that early, in fact, I didn't even think it was possible! But apparently it is because we are most DEFINITELY having....

A BOY!!!

We could not be more excited to add another boy to the family (I am seriously outnumbered at this point!) and to give little Quinn a baby brother! Every time I asked if he wanted a baby sister, he would say, "No I want a brother!". Guess he knew better than I did! I am so glad I got to find out early because I tend to get really anxious when I can't work on baby stuff because I don't know the gender, but at the same time, now I'm itching to go pull out the hundreds of barely worn baby clothes I bought for Quinn and it may be a little early :)

And now for the name! Our new little man's name is....

Brennan

You have no idea how long I've wanted to tell people the names we had picked but they were kept very hush hush, and for now our girl name is going to have to stay that way. Maybe next time! Oh and just an interesting fact, I think I've mentioned it before but I'm naming all my kids after characters from my favorite movies, shows, and books. Brennan is one I've been dying to use, because it's after my absolute favorite show, character, and actress, Emily Deschanel AKA Dr. Temperance Brennan  on Bones!
